The Mall vs. Online Shopping
Recently me and peter have gotten back into online shopping and finding expensive clothing for a good deal, and i must add that we have both gotten very good at spotting the fakes from the real, which is crucial to do if you wish to purchase clothing online.
A few days ago i went to the mall to do some more shopping and noticed the price difference that the stores are dishing out compared to ones found online, but at the same time i feel a lot safer shopping in the mall, rather than online where i don’t get to physically feel and hold the product. I dont believe i would ever buy Gold jewelery online, because it would be so hard to tell if you recieved exactly what you asked for.
This brings up the question of how much impact the digital age has on shopping and what products do you guys feel you would never buy online, and what can be bought online without fear of a fake coming.
There still many advantages to shopping at the mall, such as the air conditioning, excersize, and variety of clothes, but do these advantages really overcome the riduculous mark-up on clothing and false images advertised?

I think the only thing I would not buy entirely online is a house. I would have to see it with my own eyes before putting out any money.
I would buy anything else online. I would just make sure to use a more reputable website as the price increases. For example, I would probably buy a $20 toy from whatever website had it the cheapest. For something like gold jewelery, I would be sure to shop at Amazon (with a trusted return policy). And for something like a car (where you can view detailed photos and do all of your negotiations online and then you only show up to inspect the car and sign the papers), I would make sure to go through a reputable local dealer’s website.
For me the convenience, price savings, time savings, and gas savings are totally worth it!
Interesting post..! Shopping online can be a great way of finding a bargain, or picking up some niche product or specification that isn’t available in the shopping mall.
I love buying stuff online…. i agree with walt that i’d probably only not buy a house online.
Since i am trying to pay off debt, i try to scale back my shopping for stuff both online and in store…. but i prefer in store because i can use cash.
I think the web wins hands down…most stores offer free shipping now.
The only advantage to going to an actual store is actually looking at the item in person as you said. Other than that, online shopping is much better and far more competitive.

I have been shopping online more and I have found some really great prices.
digital goods can be bought online such as ebooks, software etc but I would be extremely wary of buying painting, antiques or just about anything that requires personal inspection and clothes of course.
The best things I like to buy online is domains
