My Favorite Stocks
Admit it, we all have our own personal favorite stocks. Whether its because they made you a fantastic return on investment or you worked for that company, we all have the ones we hold dear. /cheesy
To begin this post, one of my most “traveled” stocks is Delta.
On just about every flight I take inside the US, it is on Delta. For some years, I have always been a customer of Delta because of their low fares and great customer service and I doubt I’d ever leave them for another airline although I have flown with Continental and Northwest. The airline industry is worse than penny stocks with the constant ups and downs with weather and oil prices, much caution is taken into account once I begin to analyze the airline/transportation industry for my portfolio.
Disney. As many of you have noticed, I have always been a huge fan of the imagination, creation, and entrepreneurship that Walt Disney held in his core values. It has been said that Disney is one of the only companies that has zero chance of ever being taken over by either a merger or a stand alone buyout. There was plenty of uproar and outrage by both Disney and Comcast shareholders when news broke that Comcast was proposing a $60 billion buyout.
Pacific Ethanol has to be on this list for the simple reason that it is a renewable fuel stock and I support these companies for the endeavours in alternative fuel production and research. Nothing annoys me more than our dependence on foreign oil and the fact that very few politicans and businessmen are doing anything major to help create and develop alternative fuels. So, I thought it would be a great thing to do our part and invest in these ethanol/solar/wind stocks ourselves and give them the boost they need.
I have a transportation, entertainment, and energy stock as part of my 3 favorites. Why do you like a certain stock?
