Cash Flow 101
Today I met with somebody from school who is in the Rich Dad Poor Dad mentor program. Essentially the program sets him up with a mentor and they go through real estate modules together, learning about all different aspects.
Anyways, afterwards he show me a game call Cash Flow 101. The point of the game is to get out of the “rat race”. You do this by creating enough passive income so that all of your expenses are covered each month. A simple concept, but it really shows people what you need to do in order to be financially free.
In the beginning of the game you select a dream and are assigned a career. Each career pays differently and has different expenses. So even if you are making $10,000/mo you might start with $9,000 in expenses so your net cash flow each month is only $1,000. Despite the fact that all of the careers have different incomes, they all have the same chance to get out of the “rat race”.
I would highly recommend everybody who wants to be financially free give this game a try. It really shows how much you need to focus on passive income and how much money you make per month doesn’t really determine how wealthy you are.
If anybody else has tried this game, please post your thoughts in the comments
