Traditional Investor? The $0 Commission

If you have been exploring the galaxy and haven’t heard of Zecco, you have some great news. For the average traditional investor such as myself who divulges into stock trading only a few times a month, we now have free commission trades.

Zecco.com launched about a year ago and was increasing popular as they offered $0 trades and low cost options. As of today, that promise still stands.

However, there are a few pro’s and con’s:

Pro’s

  • Free Trades- Save anywhere from $7-30 per commissioned trade
  • Low cost option trades
  • Online portfolio tracking

Con’s

  • Quotes are delayed at least 15 minutes-as compared to live streaming quotes
  • Trades are typically delayed and aren’t instant as they would be at a tradition broker
  • Limited stock reseach and analyst information
  • Ugly pink website design

One of the main differences that sets Zecco apart from the rest of the online brokers is that they have no land based brokerage offices and all money put into your brokerage account must be transferred online, not the safest method for a huge investor.
