Being Frugal While Staying Green
I like to consider myself a relatively green individual, so it is time to present you with some money/planet saving options.
First up, The Niagara White Earth Shower Head. This one is going to set you back a whopping $5.00. Being green isn’t always about recycling and reducing your carbon emissions it is also about reducing your water consumption. And here is a prime example, this shower head limits the amount of water flow to 2.0 Gallons per minuet, compared to 2.5 GPM that most water saving shower heads conserve. It also has 2 settings, a rain like spray or a more concentrated massage. I personally use this in my bathrooms and I would suggest that you give it a try.
Next is the Toilet Tank Bank (also from Niagara). If you thought the last item just wasn’t frugal enough for you then you’ll be happy to see the $1.25 price tag attached to this water saver. Essentially this Toilet Bank will reduce the amount of water required to fill the tank. This has to be the most passive form of water saving because once it is installed you’ll rarely see it or even think about it. I also have this one in all my bathrooms.
For the last water saving item today I ignored everything I know about being frugal and went all out to purchase the AM 1.5 gpm Faucet Aerator for a crazy $0.95
Just like the toilet bank this an install and forget about it item. It will reduce the water flow that comes out of your tap, yes it really i that easy.
Now if you plan to purchase these items you should note that I just googled the names and used the first link. You can probably shop around and/or look in your local plumbing department. However if you do order online, please order everything you need at once, so don’t need them to be shipped twice (this is good for your wallet and the environment).
Remember these items will also save you money on your water bill (if you pay by usage) each month, so the effect is compounded.
